Gurneet Kaur Chhabra of Dilsukhnagar, India, won first place in the photo contest with a collage representing geoscientists studying ground fissures in India.

Submissions illustrated the theme “Earth Science Is a Big Job.”

Essay Contest

Aishani Sil from Plano, Texas, won first place in the essay contest with a short paper on the collaboration of geoscientists on hydraulic fracturing.

Students in grades 6-9 wrote essays of up to 300 words addressing this year’s theme, “Geoscientists Working Together.”
