National Park Service:
Happy 100th Birthday!
****************************

Celebrate the centennial of the National Park Service along with a host of federal agencies and others! The federal agency turns 100 today. The centennial kicks off another century of stewardship of America's national parks and engaging communities through education, recreation, conservation, and historic preservation programs.

The Earth Science Week 2016 Toolkit features a National Park Service centennial poster - including a classroom activity and additional information on geoscience heritage - as well as other park material.

The kit also features a “National Parks from Space” DVD provided by NASA, offering virtual visits to park sites from the vantage point of space, along with additional information for students and teachers. Further, NASA’s Earth Observatory has posted more than 75 park images online ( http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Features/NationalParks/ ).

USGS also is celebrating a century of collaboration with the National Park Service ( https://www2.usgs.gov/blogs/features/usgs_top_story/celebrating-a-centur... ).
