Hope Jahren

Born in 1969 in Minnesota, Hope Jahren discovered her love of science while mixing play and work in the laboratory of her father, who taught science at the local community college. She earned her undergraduate degree in geology and her Ph.D. in soil science. Dr. Jahren went on to become a renowned expert in the chemical makeup of plants and trees. Today the award-winning geochemist and geobiologist teaches at the University of Oslo in Norway and makes presentations worldwide. Her bestselling 2016 memoir, Lab Girl, details her journey as a scientist and provides inspiration for girls and women in science everywhere.
