EARTH SCIENCE WEEK UPDATE: Special Alert!
American Geosciences Institute - June 2019
Geoscience Webinar Focuses on LGBTQ Community and STEM
To gear up for Earth Science Week's 2019 theme of "Geoscience Is for Everyone," you are invited to take part in a webinar on STEM careers and the LGBTQ community, hosted by American Geophysical Union (AGU). The webinar will take place 2-3 p.m. ET tomorrow, Thursday, June 6, 2019.
As part of its centennial celebration, AGU, a longtime Earth Science Week partner, is leveraging international science days to amplify the work and voices of scientists. The webinar, "Sharing Science on LGBTSTEM Day," will provide strategies for queer scientists and allies in advance of LGBTSTEM Day, occurring July 5, 2019.
In this webinar, Lisa Graumlich and Robert Ulrich will share their experiences as members of the LGBTQ community in the Earth and space sciences and discuss practical strategies. Register now online.
