Earth Science Week 2023
Earth Science Week (ESW) 2023 took place during the second full week of October (8-14) to celebrate the theme “Geoscience Innovating for Earth and People.” The week featured events that are estimated to have reached millions of people around the world. There are still opportunities to engage with Earth Science Week 2023 by:

-
Ordering a 2023 ESW Week Toolkit or access specific items in the Online Toolkit

Applying for or nominating a teacher for the Edward C. Roy Jr. Award for excellence in K-8 teaching. Applications are now open for the 2024 award and are due January 12.
-
Telling us about an ESW week event you hosted or attended so it can be featured in the ESW 2023 Highlights Report, which will be posted online and used to help secure support for the program in the future. Please email information, news clips, and images to info@earthsciweek.org
New Format for the Earth Science Week Newsletter
This Earth Science Week Newsletter provides updates throughout the year, including resources from AGI and its partners. Traditionally, this newsletter has been released monthly, but will now be released five times per year. Be on the lookout for the next Newsletter in January, when we will reveal the 2024 theme. Further updates will be released in April, August, September, and October of 2024 to provide information on the 2024 Earth Science Week Toolkit, Webinar Series, Contests, and resources from partners. Special bulletins will also be sent if there’s urgent news to share.
As we develop resources for Earth Science Week 2024, we look forward to working with our current partners, but also wish to form new partnerships with those who would like to:
-
include their educational resources in the ESW Toolkit,
-
be involved in or promote the ESW Webinar Series,
-
become a sponsor to help us promote Earth science education, and more!
